On Wednesday the 26th of June OMS pupils made history!
Four pupils from year 8 took on a huge challenge; to compete against twelve other schools in a regional robotics competition. Our pupils had just 4 days to build a robot using the VEX IQ robot kit. The competition involved 5 tasks that would test the pupil’s robot, driving skills and programming skills. In two out of the five take our pupils came out top and they scored highly in the remaining three tasks. The result? OMS brought home the win! For their supreme efforts the pupils were awarded a prize of an expansion pack for their robot kit and the pride and kudos of beating so many schools with so little preparation time.
Well done everyone involved.
