Year 7 Paris trip – day 4

An early start saw us heading towards Paris centre. The traffic was terrible and it took ages. Eventually, we arrived at the Cité des Science. We had an hour and a half to explore the exhibits on robotics, electronic gaming, mathematics, sound, ecology and many others. It’s massive and well worth a visit. Next we went to Sacré Coeur and Montmartre. We climbed the stairs leading up to the Cathedral, stopping half way to have our packed lunch. We had epic views over the Paris skyline and the sunshine was glorious.

After lunch we silently walked around the inside of Sacra Coeur. It looks even bigger on the inside with stunning frescos on the ceiling and beautiful stain glass windows. We then walked the short distance to the Place du Tertre, the tree lined square full of artists painting people’s portraits. We soaked in the romantic, Parisian atmosphere while we visited the shops and had our portraits drawn. From here we drove to the Champs Élysées, had a short walk passed some of the shops and then visited the Arc de Triomphe. We then went to the Place du Trocadéro so we could take photos of the Eiffel Tower. From here we walked down to the Seine and boarded the Bateaux Parisians for a relaxing cruise down the river, taking in all the sites along the way.

Exhausted, we boarded the coach again to head back to the centre. After our evening meal we had a quick play time on the games field before heading upstairs to pack. We’re up early in the morning to head home. See you all Friday night.
