Phew, what a day!
Everyone crashed out last night and had a good nights sleep.
Up early for breakfast and then a quick coach journey to the little town of
Brie-Compt-Robert, We spent time in the Place du Marché checking out the stalls in the market. There was a range of souvenir, local produce and clothes stalls. After a bit of shopping in the sun, we boarded the coach again to travel to Provins. This is a 12C medieval town and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The houses are still occupied and very quaint. The weather was beautiful while walked the ramparts and ambled through the picturesque streets. Provins also hosts La Légende des Chevaliers. This is a medieval show which included knights fighting on horseback, jousting, amazing acrobatic tricks on horseback at galloping speeds! The show lasted 45 mins and depicts Count Thibaud IV of Champagne defeating the terrible Torvark in order to save the beautiful princess. It was an excellent performance and recommended for a visit!
After the show we walked back in to the village square. It was gloriously sunny and Mrs Ellison bought everyone an ice-cream.
It had been a packed day and we boarded the coach to go back to the centre for our evening meal. After dinner we went outside to play basketball, football, hide and seek and ultimate frisbee.
Just before bed we sorted out the groups, ready for Parc Asterix tomorrow!
