OMS teams compete in Kids’ Lit Quiz 2018
Two teams – each of four pupils – represented OMS in the annual north east heat of the worldwide Kids’ Lit Quiz on 7th November. Our competitors travelled to Gosforth Central Middle School to compete against 31 other teams from schools across the region, from Bellingham to Barnard Castle. The winning team – from Durham Johnston – secured a place in the national finals in London.
Competitors faced 10 rounds of 10 questions each, covering a range of themes and a dizzying array of children’s books. Both of our teams scored 70 or above, displaying a phenomenal depth and range of knowledge of children’s stories and books. The whole event was an inspiring celebration of books and reading.
Congratulations to Alex, Angus, Caitlin, Esther, Joseph and Lauren from Year 8, and to Year 7 pupils Ana and Lois, for taking part and achieving so well.
