Trip Information The centre offers 3 full days away from home where they are stimulated and challenged.  We find that the visit encourages children to work together and support each other and that this has a very beneficial effect in the classroom on our return.  Consequently, we hope that the whole year group will be keen to take part.

Paris

Destination Paris
Year group Year 7
Trip Information This is an excellent opportunity for pupils to practise their French as our package includes a native French ‘animateur’, who will be our guide throughout the trip and will help the pupils to speak French in a variety of contexts.  I also think it will provide a valuable social experience where the children learn a certain amount of independence and mix within a large group for a sustained period of time.

During the trip pupils will, amongst other things, be able to see the sights in Paris, visit Parc Astérix, the Stade de France, the Cité des Sciences museum, the Montparnasse Tower and a local market.  The Voyager Animateur team will also deliver a program of evening events, which may include, for example, a disco, games/quizzes, a treasure hunt, sports, a film night, etc.

Wooler

Destination Wooler
Year group Year 7/8
Trip Information In order to give KS3 pupils a greater understanding of ecology and the experience of carrying out ecological field work, I am proposing to run a residential field courses at Wooler in North Northumberland.

During this trip, pupils will carry out ecological sampling in a variety of habitats including a freshwater habitat and a rocky shore. It has to be stressed that this would be an extra-curricular activity as all of the compulsory ecological aspects of the Science national curriculum are taught in school. However, pupils who have attended a similar trip in the last few years found it extremely rewarding and, when they returned to school, they came back feeling highly motivated about their science studies.
