Haltwhistle Middle v Ovingham Middle School (Semi-final of cup)

This week the Year 6 boys travelled up to Haltwhistle to play the semi final of the cup.  The match kicked off late because the Haltwhistle team had to finish school.  When the game kicked off around 3.45p.m. Ovingham got off to a great start with goals by Geoffrey Bowes, Sam Anderson, Matthew Cant (3) and Josh McCutcheon (2).  Haltwhistle still had chances in the game but Ovingham’s fantastic keeper (Robert Thirtle) had a great game although at the other end the Haltwhistle keeper had an equally good match – both keepers were pulling off some fine saves.  The final score was 7-0 to Ovingham.

Ovingham played some great football and deserved to win.  The man of the match was Josh McCutcheon.  Now we are in the final against either Highfield or St Joseph’s.
